0.09 TSH level

My TSH level while taking 100MCG Levothyroxin for the last 10years is 0.09 and my Dr. says I am being slightly over dosed. He changed my meds to .88MGC and after 2 days of the lower dosage I started having pounding in my chest, which is the same symptoms I experienced 10 years ago when I was first diagnosed with underactive thyroid. I changed back to the higher dosage and the pounding stopped and has not returned. My Doctor says the pounding could be a symptom of something else but I know my body and I dont think it is. Is 0.09 TSH level an overdose for me?

I think you were right to go back to the original dose. I too suffer from hypothyroidsm and that is how I caught it. I was driving and my heart was fluttering and I was feeling light-headed. I went to the ER and had to stay overnight but found out about my thyroid.

I am currenlty on .5 mg of levothyroxin and my levels are near perfect. We all know our own bodies better than anyone. If I were you I would see another doctor and explain what happened. Best of luck to you.

Have you ever been on Armour Thyroid? I have much better results with it vs. the synthetic medication. You may want to consider contacting a Bio-Identical Hormone Specialist.
