Can thyroid problems be a symptom of coughing? This is a good question and here's what i know for sure that the thyroid or problems with the thyroid does not cause coughing most of the time but an enlarged thyroid or goiter can cause tightness in the throat and coughing. a swollen, tender or tight feeling in the neck or throat, hoarseness or coughing, and difficulty swallowing or breathing. now if you have some nodules Some cause no symptoms, while others may cause difficulty swallowing, a feeling of fullness, pain or pressure in the neck, a hoarse voice, or neck tenderness. Some nodules trigger hyperthyroid-like symptoms such as palpitations, insomnia, weight loss, anxiety, and tremors. But this dont mean you dont have some kind of problem and the coughing should be tested by the doctor to see what conditions or other problems could be causing this to happen.
