Yes, one of t he ladies that I work with lost nearly all of her eyebrows due to hypothyroidism. She has the condition under control with medication. The doctor said that it losing hair was one of the symptoms, but for her, unfortunately, the eyebrows never grew back. She does have a full head of hair, though. For some reason, that was not affected.

Yes, hair loss is a symptom of hypothyroid. Other symptoms can be feeling tired, weight gain, feeling cold, menstrual irregularity, dry skin, raspy voice, and muscle or joint aches. This is not an all inclusive list of symptoms, but is some of the more common ones.
If you think you may be hypothyroid you should go to the doctor. They will likely test two levels, your TSH and T3. In very basic terms, your TSH level shows how much your body is signaling your thyroid to work. Your T3 level, shows how much thyroid hormone is in your body. A High TSH level and low T3 level are the expected results for someone with hypothyroid.
If your results are abnormally you will likely be referred to an endocrinologist. In addition, you will be started on thyroid replacement. The good news is that hypothyroid can be controlled by taking one medication dose daily. It may take some time to find the right dosage for you, but once it is found the outlook is very good.
