Does Chronic Esophagitis create a gravely voice?

I'm having difficulty with my voice. It gets more gravelly each year. I've had thyroid tests and all is normal. I've been diagnosed with Barrett's Esophagitis and Chronic Esophagitis. Is this what is causing the gravely voice? People are having a hard time understanding me when I speak.

Yes, the esophagitis can definitely be a factor in having a hoarse or gravelly voice. Often people with chronic GERD develop a hoarseness in the voice. However, you should discuss this symptom with your doctor since there are other conditions which can also cause it, such as tumors of the larynx, vocal chord lesions, thyroid tumors or nodules, or goiter.

I've had and EGD. That's how the chronic esophagitis was determined. Thank you for your answer. I've had a thyroid biopsy which came out fine, had a voice doctor do the whole voice test and came up with a swallowing problem with the epiglotis. I don't know where the larynx fits in or who else I should see. But I appreciate your response.
