Sometimes I seem to burp a lot and get a weird feeling in my throat where my thyroid is enlarged. It feels like theres something putting a slight pressure on my throat although it doesn't hurt it feels like something is stuck in there.

Should I be worrying? or is this normal to feel?

My spouse had a biopsy on his thyroid over the summer, and I was right in the room with him. They numbed the area, and it was all over in a few minutes. There was minimal discomfort.

I would guess that waiting a week or two should not be a problem. Doctors do schedule procedures very quickly when necessary.

You won't really know what the treatment options are until you do have the biopsy. The good news is that thyroid cancer is very rare in the United States, so chances are it is benign.

I wouldn't worry about salt in your diet until after the procedure. Your doctor will be the best one to evaluate your diet and make recommendations based on what they find.

Good luck---these things are scary, but it's better to know what you're dealing with and get it treated early.

I dont know if you will get a copy of this Marzipan but everything went well it was benign and just a mass growth it was removed 3 weeks ago. I have posted another question regarding my voice though...perhaps look it up and see if your spouse went through the same thing?
