Most cases of thyroid cancer can be cured, often with surgery and sometimes with radiation or chemotherapy. If thyroid cancer has spread to the lymph nodes, the cancer could affect other parts of the body, metastasize and become much more difficult to treat. But again, most cases of thyroid cancer are curable.

When the thyroid gland is removed due to cancer can a person live a life without medicines to replace the thyroid fuctions? are meds needed to replace what the thyroid gland did before removal?
I had a thyroid ultrasound done 1 month ago and it showed a mass on my left thyroid and multiple nodules on my right thyroid, o.k. doctor said he had to wait til this day to tell me the results cause he wanted to be sure first,o.k. i went back today and hehas scheduled for me to have a thyroid iodine...
