The proper levels of thyroid medication should bring your thyroid hormone levels up to normal, and then you should be able to lose weight with a normal regiment of diet and exercise. Get your thyroid levels tested (or retested) and make sure your meds are correct.

It is most essential that you make sure your diagnosis is correct before starting a weight loss plan. Remember that hypothyroid test result is always not correct. Although, if you are sure then start the following plan:

• Normal person (normal TSH levels) if take thyroid hormone replacement knowing that an under active thyroid, it will help to gain body weight ( Weigh Less Live Longer ). Thyroid disease slows down the metabolism. What your brain perceives as appropriate food intake levels can then exceed your body's metabolism, creating weight gain.
• Set a diet plan (without reducing the quantity of food) with lower-calorie intake (800 to 900 calorie per day), low-fat diets and exercise.
• Ask your doctor if you need T3. Research has found that many hypothyroid people fare better when they add T3, a second thyroid hormone, to the typical treatment of levothyroxine (i.e., Synthroid or Levoxyl.)

• Make sure you're not sabotaging your thyroid drug treatment. Doctors have found that taking calcium supplements or calcium-fortified orange juice, vitamins with iron, and antacids may interfere with thyroid drug absorption. Take these supplements at least 3 hours apart from thyroid hormone.
• Consider taking your calorie requirements for the day and breaking them into smaller, 250-calorie mini-meals. Frequent smaller meals can help balance blood sugar, prevent fat storage, and help you feel less hungry in general.
• Consider a low-glycemic and/or low-carbohydrate diet. This means you limit the amount of starches - such as bread, pasta and rice - that you eat, and eliminate refined sugars.

• Eat a diet of low-fat protein and complex carbohydrates like vegetables.
• Ask your doctor if you need an antidepressant. Some hypothyroid people find their weight loss efforts are more effective when they're on a prescription antidepressant therapy.
• Exercise 30 minutes a day. You don't have to run marathons, or become a fanatic. Even brisk walking in 3 10-minute segments a day will raise metabolism and help you burn more calories.

• Change metabolic "set point," changes in brain chemistry (hunger is intricately tied to your brain chemistry) due to illness (under active thyroid) and stress (I’m getting weight), and insulin resistance.
• Lose fat without drugs: Drugs work, but the results are temporary and the side effects are nasty. The tiny handful of natural bodybuilders who have learned how to use training and nutrition science to alter body composition without drugs are the only people in the world who keep their fat loss and muscle gains permanently.
