Is there a link between thyroid problems and chronic pancreatitis

I have chronic pancreatitis and my flares seem to coincide when my thryoid is having problems. I did read an article that stated that parathyroidism is linked to pancreatitis and I want to know what types of tests confirm this with any certainity and if surgical removal of the affected pararthyroid will help or even stop the symptoms of the chronic pancreatitis

There is a link between hyperthyroidism & pancreatitis but the pancreatitis not the hyperthyroidism is the culprit. Typically with hyperthyroidism occurring initially the two are not necessarily associated. Sometimes pancreatitis can be caused by Tapzole or PTU. High levels of blood calcium, gallstones, alcohol usage, high triglycerides and Graves disease are causative factors for pancreatitis. In patient's with pancreatitis the T-3 level (one thyroid hormone) is increased 75% of the time, Tests indicative of pancreatitis are serum amylase, lypase; other diagnostic tools are CT scan, endoscopic ultrasound, EUS. Removal of the hyperactive thyroid in pancreatitis is sort of like removing the pancreas for diabetes.

I have hypothroidism, is there test to confirm or deny a possible tumor on my parathyroid gland since the article did state a link between a tumor on the parathyroid gland and pancreatitis.

One quarter of patients with autoimmune pancreatitis have hypothyroidism. Cannot find a correlation between 'hypothyroidism' & parathyroid tumor & pancreatitis. However, a turmor should be found by CT scan or MRI.
