You definitely need to see a doctor and see what is happening. It may need to be removed or you may just need to take some medication to get your thyroid hormone levels under control, but if you ignore it you can have life-long and damaging effects. It is an easy blood test and typically your primary care physican can handle it for you.

At age 58 i have developed an enlarged thyroid. i am currently undergoing tests to determine its curent level of functioning.
I have a enlarged thyroid and a cyst in one of my thyroid glands and on the left side of my neck it hurts it kind of feels like i pulled a arm muscle because the pain goes down to my arm can that be from the cyst. do cyst even hurt if they do hurt how would you explain the pain.
