Oral sex How long after a thyroid surgery (total thyrodectomy) can I perform oral sex |

This is a question only your doctor can answer and it would be perfectly okay to ask. Doctors have heard and seen everything. This won't surprise a physician.
If you don't ask and make the move too soon, you'll have to explain what happened after the fact. That would be a lot more awkward that getting clearance ahead of time from your doctor.

I'm not sure if you're looking to perform on a man or a woman. I've had the same surgery and there's no concern over a penis rubbing the sutures through the esophagus unless he's extremely long and you deep throat. That could make you extremely sore. For performing on a woman, there's not that same issue of insertion.
However, you DO need to make sure that your neck is no longer sore. You will be supporting it or moving it up and down. How long will depend on your speed of recovery. It might be two weeks or six. You need to make sure it's not going to cause you any undue strain or stress on your neck, whatever you're doing.
Most surgeries require you to avoid strenuous activity for six weeks so if you get freaky with it, wait. Your body needs to heal. Otherwise, when you're not sore any longer, go easy. Start light. Don't worry about fluids from your partner as that will be contained in the esophagus and will not get near the sutures.
