Thyroid Disease

How do I MAKE my physician look deeper into me possibly having a thyroid disease? I KNOW I have it. I have ALL of the symptoms but they ALWAYS do a simple TSH test and tell me I'm fine. Go home. I cannot afford to keep going to doctors that don't want to help. My insurance co-pays are too high. I am so sick I can't stand it anymore.

Find a new doctor! If your doctor will not listen to you and do the tests you feel need to be done then you need to find one who will. When you call around to make an appointment feel out the receptionist. Tell her a short version of your problem and tell her how important these tests are to you. You should get a decent idea on how the doctor will react by her reaction. She works with the doctor daily and will know if they will accomodate your wishes.

Why not try and boost your thyroid function with food? Butter is the number one thyroid stimulator! Eat it along with eggs and eliminate regular salt replacing it with sea salt. Take a few teaspoons of kelp or dulse flakes a week and you should see GREAT improvement!

I have thyroid disease so I completely sympathize with you. I went through the same thing, You need to find an Endocrinologist. They specialize in thyroid problems. Depending on the type of insurance or coverage you have you may have to get a referral from your regular doctor, or some times the specialist may not need a referral to see you. Good luck hun, I wish you the best!
