Thyroid pet scan When you have a pet scan, will it show red as in cancer if you really have inflammation? Or if the pet scan shows red, does that mean cancer and inflammation? Thanks. |

This is a test where they introduce a radio tracer in the form of fuilds into the body and where it travels without any pain will show up as a glow if any cancer is found by the fuilds and is a very good test and they use a small amount of radio active agent that you pee out after a bit to help the body react to the fuilds and is like a cat scan where you lay on a table and they insert an IV and fluid flows in and the tunnel takes pictures slice to slice of the body to gain a better view of all that's there. and no pain except the IV placement is had for this test .
