Thyroid treatment I have hypothyrodism (slow) and I currently take synthroid 100. I just had a blood test and the dr.'s office just calle me and told my my thyroid test came back low, and they were changing my perscription to 88? I questioned the office my medication is being decreased and my blood test results were low? I am confused If I have a slow thyroid and take medication to replace or increase my thyroid shouldn't my dosage increase ? |

It sound like the does they put you on was too high - your body didn't need that much, so in a way it caused you to he hyper rather than hypo. They want your levels to balance out, and when you are hypo your numbers are high and then low when you have hyperthyroidism. You will have negative symptoms either way. If your doctor is on top of it and fixing your dose, then there really isn't a need to worry.
