Thyroid cysts are not normally removed surgically unless the thyroid cyst keeps reoccurring and is thought to be malignant. The best ways to treat a thyroid cyst is to locate the cyst and then inject some tetracycline into it to help drain out the cyst. Injecting tetracycline normally helps to prevent reoccurence of the thyroid cyst.
