Hello Teresa'sWorld. (I do have hypothyroidism as well.) If you are experiencing symptoms of hypothyroidism such as fatigue, cold intolerance, brittle hair and nails, weight gain, irritability, etc. or just have had a recent change in your thyroid medication dosage and are not feeling up to par, contact your doctor and have your thyroid hormone levels, (T3 and T4) rechecked to see if they are in a normal range.
Most hypothyroid patients have to have their medication dosages adjusted to find the proper level for the individual. If you are having symptoms, you may need an adjustment even if you're testing "normal". I am fairly thin and still have to take 112mcg daily, (levothyroxine) to alleviate the symptoms associated with hypothyroidism.
In addition, many people are also affected with S.A.D., (Seasonal Affective Disorder), in the fall and winter months regardless of thyroid hormone levels. The symptoms can be similar including extreme fatigue, feeling down or depressed, have no energy or interest in normal activities, increase in appetite, (especially carbohydrates). Should this be a possible issue, consult with your physician. Reduced estrogen levels can also have a similar effect.
If you are feeling poorly, the cause needs to be positively diagnosed to determine the appropriate treatment. However, don't accept that your symptoms are "normal" when the underlying cause needs to be identified. I wish you well and hope you are feeling better soon.

All medications have its side effects. I would like first to know what are you feeling? What were the exact symptoms you are manifesting to say that youre feeling crap. Maybe your body still adjusts to the medication youre taking. Also, what are the other medications you are taking along with your thyroid meds? Maybe they can also interfere and produce symptoms as a result of the failure of the drugs to interact with each other.
When it comes to thyroid meds changed to a lesser dosage, I think you should consult it to your physician. I think the symptoms or the side effects must be felt less because the dosage has been decreased.
