Colloid cysts in a thyroid are commonest form of thyroid enlargement. It a enlargement caused by filling of the thyroid tissue with colloid matter. In fact normal thyroid has these colloid matter and in disease states they get enlarged. It can occur due to many causes. One of the commonest is iodine deficiency. It is usually benign condition but only a fine needle aspiration biopsy can confirm it.

I have a enlarged thyroid and a cyst in one of my thyroid glands and on the left side of my neck it hurts it kind of feels like i pulled a arm muscle because the pain goes down to my arm can that be from the cyst. do cyst even hurt if they do hurt how would you explain the pain.
